  • The Sonic Statue in the Japanese Mountains Has Finally Been Restored!

It all began on December 20, 2015, when a Japanese biker found a mysterious Sonic statue in the Japanese mountains. Since then, Sonic fans have been trying to figure out where the statue is located. After years of searching for the statue, BxB-Meister, a user in the Sonic Stadium forums, located the statue and posted an image of it on March 29, 2018. But due to the fear of vandalism, the location was shared only to a few people. The user did, however, give a few hints as to where it may be.

On Sept. 14 of that same year, a twitter user noticed that the statue was originally part of one of the Sega World parks in Japan. Since then, no one seemed to bother searching for the statue until January 31, 2019, when Nathan Gill asked for the location of the statue. A day later, he made a video around the statue. The statue appeared to be worn down with the paint fading and cracks in his arm and nose.

J-Town started investigating and found out that the statue was owned by Yuji Kodera. Unfortunately, he died years before they could have the chance to question him. They did, however, contact his family and learned some interesting info on the statue.

Kodera used it as a marker to indicate where the entrance to his house since many would miss it. Since then, people have been wanting to restore it to its former glory including Sega.

And that is exactly what happened.

On August 10 of this year, the statue has finally been restored. As of right now, we are unsure who did it. But whoever it was, he did an amazing job.
