Due to public vote, fancomic Sonic the Comic Online is currently one of the five successful nominations for Favourite Web-Based Comic in this year’s Eagle Awards. The winners for the awards will be chosen by a second public vote which ends on May 11th, and will be announced at the Bristol Comic Expo.
This is the first industry-wide award in Britain to have its nominations chosen by public vote since the Diamond National Comics Award 2004, where STC-O came second, losing out to the officially licensed The Matrix Comics.
The late Tom Frame, who lettered the original Sonic the Comic along with a celebrated run on 2000AD, has been nominated for Favourite Letterer and the Roll of Honour.
