  • Goodbye Denuvo: Sonic Mania finaly gets rid of Denuvo DRM

Denuvo got finally removed from Sonic Mania increasing FPS and lowering space.

Denuvo a well known DRM used in a buntch of PC games has finaly been removed from Sonic Mania with their new beta but they don't say it.

    Branch: community_beta
    Password: sonicmaniabeta
    BuildID: 3617885

    Patch notes:
    • Fixed an issue where a controller didn’t always get detected
    • Increased the amount of storage size a user could access for the replay data.
    • Fixed an issue where the check for compatible shaders was not performed when the game starts.

There has been a incrise in fps in a few places after the Denuvo removal and lowerd the file size of the game. If you want to test the beta you can use the beta password on top right click on Sonic Mania > Properties > Betas and then on the put the password below the drop-down menu and then click Check Code

Denuvo was even inplemented incorectly as I (Wingzzzzy) actualy cracked denuvo, hacked to the top of the leader board and made the first mod without any of the new tools now avalebel. (To bad i dont have the files of the mod as they where on a old hosting service.)

Also while looking at the SteamDB we can see that the Lab24 branch recently. So maybe more updates may come soon.

Lets hope that the other sega titels will get their DRM Removed. As it hurts a lot of PC gamers in performance and space.
